Shillong: To mark World Photography Day, the Riti Academy of Visual Arts organised a two-day photography competition-cum-exhibition at Anton Hall in city on Friday.
The exhibition was organised with an aim to create a platform for professionals as well as amateur photographers to showcase their talents and skills in photography.
“This is an opportunity for us the upcoming photographers of the state to showcase our skills in this field as this is one line of work which can really instill a sense of satisfaction”, one upcoming photographer told reporters on the sidelines of the exhibition.
Several photographers from Shillong participated in the exhibition with great enthusiasm showcasing different genres of photography including landscape, fashion, fine arts, abstract, street photography and others.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Photography Day, the Department of Mass Media, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong organized a photography on Friday workshop on the theme “life through the lens” in two categories open and school. The aim of the workshop was to equip the participants with the basic concepts of photography besides providing them a deeper understanding of how professional photography happens.
