Trinamool promises good salary and DA if voted to power in 2013

From Our Correspondent

Agartala: The political change in the Left ruled Tripura is inevitable after ‘historic’ downfall of 35 years’ Left citadel in West Bengal, said Union Minister for Shipping Mukul Roy.

Roy, who was addressing a street rally at Sukantala Road here on Saturday, said that there was time when people of Tripura had to believe that the Left regime would not end here.

“But, the political change in West Bengal after 35 years of misrule under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee has prompted people of Tripura to reset their goal or political will,” he said.

However, Roy who had played a vital rule in toppling Marxist government in West Bengal exhorted the party leaders and workers to prepare ground for the much needed change.

“The party would certainly kick off its statewide programme highlighting the people’s woes after Durga puja, biggest festival in the state,” he said.

Roy, who also holds party’s general secretary post underlined need on united fight against the Marxist government which doesn’t believe in democracy.

Roy also came down heavily on the Left Front government for its failure in the field of Industries, healthcare and education for the past 18 years. “Outlay under different central government schemes is being misused by the Left Front government depriving the common people,” he alleged.

Roy promised that government employees would not deprive from their legitimate rights — good salary and DA if the Trinamool Congress is voted to power in the 2013 Assembly election.

MP Haji Narul Islam also addressed the rally while party’s heavy weight leaders like Prof Manik Deb, Arun Kanti Bhowmik, Dulal Das also remained present in the rally.
