Nandankanan tigress released in Guwahati zoo

GUWAHATI: The Assam state zoo on Friday added a guest to its animal list when a white tigress “Khusi” was released in presence of state’s Forest minister Rockybul Hussain.

A male and female white tigress, “Khusi”, was recently brought by the zoo authorities from Orissa’s Nandankanan zoo in exchange for deers and leopard cats recently.

In a function held at the zoo premises the tigress was release inside the enclosure while its male counterpart will be also released after proper acclimatisation.

Speaking on the occasion, Hussain said pairs of hyena and mute swann will be soon brought from Biswamunda Biological park in Ranchi in exchange for a leopard and two leopard cats. (PTI)
