NPO endorses high-level meet of Naga rebel leaders

Kohima: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) has strongly endorsed the ‘highest-level meeting’ of Naga political groups with the noble initiatives of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR).

He said the unprecedented efforts of the FNR, under the leadership of Dr Wati Aier and his able team, would strengthen the aspiration of the Nagas.

In a press statement NPO president M L Markson today said the collective efforts of Naga political leaders’ decision to forgive and forget their past, respecting the wishes of the Nagas, were commendable.

”May such unique gesture of our national leaders abstain from further factional violence and defend the reconciliation agreement in letter and spirit,” the statement added.

The NPO had welcomed such historic development and unconditionally extended support to fulfil every reconciliation process of different Naga factions to facilitate towards an honorable and meaningful resolution of Naga issue, it said. (UNI)
