London: American actress Raquel Welch sympathies with troubled actress Lindsay Lohan even though she “misbehaves”.

The 70-year-old Hollywood icon accepts the 25-year-old actress – who has been to rehab several times and had numerous run-ins with the police – has many self-made problems but believes it’s about time she was given a break from the relentless interest in her personal life.

“I’m the antidote to Lindsay Lohan. I know she misbehaves terribly, but sometimes it just seems like it’s open season on her,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Welch as saying.

Raquel – who was catapulted to fame at the age of 26 when she played a fur bikini wearing cave-girl in 1966 film ‘One Million Years B.C.’ – can understand why young actresses go off the rails, and claims the pressure of making it in Hollywood can have a negative effect on ambitious starlets.

“(In Hollywood) it’s ‘My self-esteem’, ‘my self-this’, ‘my self-that’. Believe me, I’ve been there – I’m an actress. At one point you just get nauseous with it and think, ‘I have to take my mind off myself’,” she said.

As she has gotten older, Raquel – who has been married four times -insists she has become far less selfish and always considers the feelings of others before she acts. (Agencies)
