Diphu: Two businessmen were kidnapped and killed by suspected Karbi Peoples Liberation Tiger insurgents in Karbi Anglong district of Assam.

The two small-time traders were abducted last night from Sirilangso and their bullet-riddled bodies recovered this afternoon in the area, official sources said.

The police and Army had launched a joint search operation at Sirilangso, an interior area of the district and recovered the two bodies with their hands tied behind and bullet wounds, they said. They were identified as Jamin Deb and Sudharshan Narzary, the sources said.

Non-payment of extortion money was suspected to be the motive. (PTI)
