Coal mine supervisor killed

 JOWAI: One Wankynmoo Suiam, 30, died after he was attacked by a group of six labourers at a coal mine located at Khlookynring in Jaintia Hills distirct on Thursday night.

Sources said Suiam was hit with a pickaxe several times by a group of six miscreants and he died on the spot. Sourcses also informed that Suiam was working as a supervisor in the coal mine.

“He went to inspect the coal mine on Thursday and the labourers working in the coal mine attacked and killed him,” a relative of the victim, who is a former JHADC MDC, said.

“Soon after the incident, local people started searching for the miscreants and apprehended one of them. He was later handed over to the police,” the relative added.
