Silver jubilee celebrations

 SHILLONG:The women organization Ka Seng Bhalang ki Kynthei Lummawbah (SBKL) celebrated its silver jubilee in the presence of former Rajya Sabhba MP JE Tariang at Lummawbah here on Saturday.

The organisation which was started March 3, 1987 now has upto 300 members working hand in hand for the cause of uplifting the locality and the society as a whole.Setting up of a crèche was one of SBKL’s major service to the people of the locality, particularly for the working parents, while encouraging the youth in education, sport and other activities by way of distributing awards to them.

 The function was attended by local MDC Teilinia Thangkhiew, former MLA from Mylliem Constituency PM Syiem, President of Ka Lympung ki Seng Kynthei Kong Theilin Phanbuh, Social Welfare Advisory Board Secretary BB Nale, representatives of the Synjuk Bhalang ki Kynthei Nongkseh, members of other women organizations and social activists as well as headmen of the Raid Sawkur Nongkseh.

 The function also saw the performance of talented youth, including one of the finalists to the NE Highway Star Voice Hunt while around thirty kids brought cheers to the crowd through their fancy dress competition.
