AP declares ANSU bandh illegal

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has declared the 48-hour Capital Complex bandh called by the All Nyishi Students’ Union on Mondayas illegal. The bandh has been called demanding arrest of a journalist of a leading daily for making alleged derogatory remarks against the Nyishi community in the online edition on May four last. The state government has directed its employees to attend offices or face disciplinary action. At least 2,500 additional police personnel have been mobilized to maintain law and order and keep daily life normal, the state’s home minister, Takar Marde, said. (UNI)
