JOWAI: The Dorbar Shnong, Tuber-Shohshrieh- a village under Khliehriat Sub-Division of Jaintia Hills district has decided to provide land for the proposed setting up of BSF quarter in the district.
Sources from the dorbar shnong informed that the dorbar shnong in its general meeting held recently passed a resolution to grant the BSF a ‘No Objection Certificate’.
“The final NOC will be handed over to the BSF official only after both the dorbar shnong and the BSF signed a memorandum of understanding”, sources said
“The BSF has agreed to buy the entire land which belongs to the villagers”, sources close to the dorbar shnong added.Meanwhile, the Jaintia Students’ Union in a release issued here on Tuesday has opposed the move to set up the BSF quarter at Tuber-Shohshrieh.
