Speaking on the issue of unattended issue of Feni water crisis, the Chief Minister said, “The land demarcation issues were finalized and the water crisis issues are pending. It shouldn’t be interpreted in any manner that Feni crisis couldn’t be solved because of postponement of Teesta water sharing agreement. It is not that any of them has been cancelled. We just have to wait a little longer for it”. “If the agreed issues can be implemented properly in the coming days, it will prove fruitful for both the nations”, he said.
He expressed content over the solution of long standing border issues in land territories at Tripura and several other international border adjacent states of the country saying, “It is a common issue of concern for all states if there is a tension prevailing along the border.
They have been cleansed by and large, thanks to the positive attitude of both neighbouring nations”.
Asked if the militant issue came up on the discussion table, Sarakr said that the matter was raised during meeting between Bangladesh Prime Minister and four Chief Ministers of Northeast. “Bangladesh Prime Minister had requested us to give inputs on the location or existence of militant hideouts so that the government could take action against them”, he said. As per the latest intelligence inputs, about 20 militant camps of Tripura based outfits still exist in Bangladesh.
