SHILLONG: The night road blockade called by the Ri-Bhoi Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising of KSU, CORP, RBYF, HNYF and FKJGP on Friday night passed off peacefully.

Police registered a case against one Harjinwar Muktieh (27) for allegedly assaulting Rajen Muktieh and Pynskhem Marbaniang of Parila village in Umsning. The injured persons were shifted to CHC Umsning for treatment.

Meanwhile, the JAC on Saturday hailed the decision of the State Government to de-recognize the Marngar community as Scheduled Tribes.
