Advani’s Jan Chetna Yatra in NE on Oct 20

Guwahati: Senior BJP leader LK Advani’s Jan Chetna Yatra will touch the two North Eastern states of Assam and Arunachal where the BJP leader will address rallies in the capital cities on October 20.

”The Jan Chetna Yatra will start from Bihar and will travel through Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh before Mr Advani reaches Assam,” BJP leader Kiran Maheswari said here on Sunday.

She informed that Mr Advani will fly to Dibrugarh from Hyderabad on October 20 and take a helicopter to Itanagar, where he will address a rally in the forenoon.

Flying back to Dibrugarh, he will then rake another flight to Guwahati and attend a rally here in he afternoon.

”From Guwahati, Mr Advani will fly to Kolkata and address another rally there the same day,” Ms Maheswari added.

She pointed that it was the first time that a major Yatra would touch NE.

The Yatra will end with a massive rally at New Delhi on November 20, on the eve of the start of the Winter Session of the Parliament.

”The main objective of the Yatra is to press the government for good governance, transparency and efficiency of the government and corruption,” Ms Maheswari said.

”Local issues will be highlighted in the states that the Yatra will visit,” she added. (UNI)
