Guwahati: BJP leader Tapir Gao on Sunday demanded President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh in view of the ‘unstable’ political situation in the state.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Gao said imposition of President’s Rule was the only way to bring some stability in the state and improve the ‘fast deteriorating’ law and order situation.
The state has been in a political turmoil since Jarbom Gamlin took over as the chief minister earlier this year following the death of incumbent Dorjee Khandu in a helicopter crash.
The BJP leader alleged that more than half of the state MLAs had been camping in New Delhi for the last four months. ”The departments are not functioning, no government work is moving and development has stopped,” he said. (UNI)
