Anniversary celebrations of IAF

 SHILLONG: The week-long celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Indian Air Force culminated here on Monday. During the concluding programme, Air Marshal S Varthaman Air Officer Commanding- in- Chief, EAC administered the pledge of allegiance to all the personnel posted at the EAC.

Various events including Air Fest 2011, social evening and traditional Barakhanas, were organized during the week long celebrations to mark the occasion.

 The AOC-in-C in his message paid rich tributes to the predecessors who have worked hard to make the Force one of the mightiest in the world.

He also highlighted the achievements of the Indian Air Force and the contribution of this Command during the preceding one year, including successful conduct and participation in various operational exercises.

According to Varthaman, Indian Air Force is the custodians of vital military and national assets and it is Air Force responsibility to take great care of these resources so that they are most optimally utilized at the shortest possible notice.
