CM meets PC on ANVC demand

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram recently to discuss the issue of creation of an autonomous council in Garo Hills as demanded by the A’chik National Volunteer Council (ANVC). During the meeting it was observed that the ANVC demand needed further examination. The tripartite ceasefire agreement between the Centre, State Government and the ANVC was extended by another year effective from Oct 1.
