Unidentified body recovered

 SHILLONG: A dead body of an unknown person was recovered by the police from Iew Mawlong here at around 4pm on Thursday.

According to the police, the identity of the deceased is still unknown and he appears to be a non-tribal. The cause of death is still unknown but they have not rule out foul play.

The dead body is still lying in Shillong Civil Hospital.

In another incident, one person (a male aged between 45 to 50) was found lying unconscious at Polo Bazaar here on October 7 and was later shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital where he died later that afternoon. The deceased nick named, Bhatt, believed to be a Bengalee was a known alcoholic and he was reeking of alcohol when he was brought to the hospital. The body is still lying at Shillong Civil Hospital since October 7. The police have informed that if no one claims the body within the next few days it would be disposed off.
