SHILLONG: In an attempt to kindle the spirit of adventure, comradeship and spirit-de-corps among the Air Warriors, the Eastern Air Command recently undertook a one day expedition.
A team of thirty nine warriors and children undertook one day expedition from Upper Shillong to Mawphlang led by Gp Capt R Mishra. The expedition was flagged off by Air Marshall M Matheswaran.
The trekking expedition was part of Air Force Day Celebrations which commenced on Oct 2, 11 with Air Fest 2011 at ALG Upper Shillong.
The expedition was also organized for Air Warriors to acquaint them with the culture of the local people through people to people interaction and to cultivate healthy civil-military relations.
The route for the trekking team was from the Upper Shillong, the David Scotts’ Trail till Mawphlang .
