SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills Muster Roll Union’s office picketing on DFO territorial office Tura passed off peacefully on the second day on Thursday. The Association has been picketing the office following the adamant attitude of the Government towards the Union’s appeals for the last two years. The Union had been demanding payment of skilled labourer’s wage for 101 Muster Rolls of the Garo Hills Division, who had been paid unskilled labourer’s wage since 2009. Besides, 15 senior Muster Rolls who were upgraded to Grade IV posts were also demoted by the Government.
