Agartala: US Consul General D Thompson arrived here on an official visit. During the visit, the US envoy met Governor DY Patil and Chief Secretary SK Panda on Monday and discussed various issues related to development.
The Consul General and his wife Mrs Jane Thompson will visit Rajghatpara village and interact with Self-Help Group (SHG) women of the Tripura Adibasi Mahila Samity (TAMS) on Wednesday.
Besides, Thompson will deliver remarks on “Indo-US Relations” at the Tripura University and interact with students at Seminar Hall on the same day.
But it is not yet confirmed whether the Consul General could meet Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
Official sources said, the US envoy visited Akhaura Check Post and spoke to BSF officials to know the ground reality on Sunday.
