Girl kidnapped, rescued

 JOWAI: A fourteen year old Manipuri girl, Origista Singha was allegedly kidnapped by one Sumit Singha to Kailasahar village in Tripura from Mukhla village in Jaintia Hills and was rescued by Jaintia Hills police on Sunday morning.

The girl was kidnapped on September 23 last month.

Sources informed that the father of the girl visited Kailasahar village to bring back his daughter but he was threatened by the alleged abductor.

Having no other option, the father logded a police complaint at Ummulong Beat House on October 11.

A team of Jaintia Hills police led by BR Marak rescued the girl on Sunday morning but the abductor could not be arrested as he was not at home at the time police conducted raid.
