Murder accused hospitalised

 SHILLONG: The main accused of murder of one Kanailal Saha of Laitumkhrah — Phani Deb – has been admitted to the Shillong Civil Hospital after he complained of health-related problem.

Informing this, a police officer from Laitumkhrah Police Station said the case was under process and the police have already filed a suo-moto case in this connection.

Both Deb and Saha were are the tenants of one Rajat Chowdhury.

A brawl between Deb, the owner of Meghalaya Pharmacy, Laitumkhrah, and Saha led to the death of the latter on November 5. The incident took place when both went to fetch water from a community well in the morning.

“Once he is discharged we will forward him to the court,” the police official said.
