SHILLONG: With an aim to boost its presence in Meghalaya, the BJP has appointed Lok Sabha member Ramen Deka as the party in-charge of the State.
Talking to reporters after assuming charge here on Wednesday, Deka said he would take up the issue of delay in commissioning the Myntdu Leshka Hydro Electric Project at the parliamentary party meeting.
Deka, who represents Mangaldoi constituency of Assam, said he would also raise other issues concerning the State like Shillong bye pass and Indo- Bangla border.
During the meeting here, the party officials also discussed the use of forest land for limestone mining and setting up of cement companies in Jaintia Hills.
