Quasquicentennial celebration

The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Assembly will celebrate the 125 years ( Quasquicentennial Celebration) of the John Roberts Theological Seminary (JRTS). The opening ceremony will be held on November 17 and the closing ceremony on November 23 and 24 at John Roberts Theological Seminary at Mawklot.

New office bearers

The Synjuk Ki Samla Seng Khasi Ri Raid Laban elected new office bearers including Donbokstar Kurkalang as the president, Ioniancy Kharmon and Johnson Nongkynrih as the vice president, Eddieson Rani as the joint secretary, Lamanlang Rynjah as the sports secretary, Mankhraw (Nar) Khongsit as the publicity secretary, Moonlight Nongkynrih as the arts and culture secretary and Binita Shabong as the treasurer.

VDP Rally

The Village Defence Party (VDP) Rally of the Pynursla Circle will be held on November 22 at 1pm at Pynursla Police Station.

Crops festival

The office of the District Horticulture Officer, East Khasi Hills in collaboration with the office of the Project Director, Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) East Khasi Hills will organise the ‘Agri (ATMA)- Horti Cum Indigenous Crops Festival 2011’ at State Central Library premises on November 18.

 Meeting

The general body meeting of Asom Kristi Kendra will be held on November 19 at its premises.

 Seminar

The Raid Laban College is organizing a two-day State Level Seminar on “Impact of Education in Socio-Cultural Development in Meghalaya” on November 17 and 18. Governor, RS Mooshahary will preside over the seminar as chief guest and Prof AN Rai, VC, NEHU will be the guest of Honor during the inaugural session.

Valedictory function

The valedictory function of the teacher training programme for teachers from Thailand will be organized by the English and Foreign Languages (EFL) University, Shillong Campus on Thursday. Minister for Urban Affairs Ampareen Lyngdoh will be the chief guet on the occasion.The EFL organized a three-month teacher training programme in which 18 teachers from Thailand attended the training .
