Three qualify for national level painting competition

 SHILLONG: A State-level painting competition on the theme “Conserve Water for Future” was organized by Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources at Anton Hall recently. The competition was conducted as part of the nationwide painting competition in order to create awareness on water conservation. The competition was open to students of class 4, 5 and 6. Minister of Water Resources AL Hek presided over the competition as chief guest. Around 50 students, who were shortlisted from School Level Competition held earlier throughout the state, took part.Vivian J Kyndiah, BK Bajoria HS School, Shillong bagged the first prize while Joseffeen K Ryntong, Eden Academy Secondary School, Umsning and Debanjan Modak, All Saints’ Diocesan HS School, Shillong bagged the second and third prize, respectively. The three winners have qualified from Meghalaya for the national level competition to be held at New Delhi in January, 2012.
