Nagaland to observe Integration Week

KOHIMA: Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland will observe the National Integration Week from Saturday in line with the National Integration Pledge.

Official sources said the ‘Quami Ekta Week’ (National Integration Week) would be observed all over the country from November 19-25, 2011.

The National Integration pledge would be taken on the November 19.

The National Integration Pledge reads as ”I solemnly pledge to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the Nation. I further affirm that I shall never resort to violence and that I will continue to endeavour towards settlement of all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region or other political or economic grievance by peaceful and constitutional means.”

Nagaland Home Department had requested all the departments concerned to organise a suitable function to administer the pledge and to observe the “National Integration Week” in a befitting manner. (UNI)
