Margao: It will be a big challenge for Shillong Lajong to stop the unbeaten race of formidable leader Dempo SC when both clash in the seventh round of I- League Football Championship match, to be played here at Nehru stadium Fatorda in south Goa on Wednesday.

A well-Knit Dempo with 18 points in their kitty with all six wins look impressive both on paper and performance. All eyes will be on Nigerian Renty Martin, who is the highest goal scorer with eight goals and would certainly go all out to maintain their unbeaten spree intact.

A confident looking Dempo coach Arman Colaco expressed happiness with his team’s performance and said with luxury of a full strength squad at his disposal they are looking forward to continue the winning spree.

He said Lajong are young and a good team. They play well and will also fight for points.

Dempo look menancing in all their three departments. There is a lot of mobality in Dempo frontline with Renty Martin and Joaquim Abranches combining well. While, the defence is marshlled by Mahesh Gawali along with Debrata Roy and Sameer Naik. The team had conceded only two goals so far itself proves that Dempo’s defence is strong. The mid-field is also moving well with playmaker Climax Lawrence, Antrhony Pereira and Clifford Miranda.

The young Shillong Lajong, which is shaping well, have eight points in their kitty with two wins and two draws from six outings so far. They will depend heavily on their some key players like John Menyongor, Aibor Khangjee and Eugenson Lygdoh to deliver the goods. (UNI)
