TURA: Garo Hills police is yet to make any breakthrough into the abduction of BDO PK Boro who was taken away at gunpoint on Monday last. The BDO remains untraced for the sixth day on Saturday.

Wife makes appeal: Following the abduction of her husband, PK Boro, his wife Aparajita Mushahary has appealed to the GNLA through the media to allow her to speak to her husband over phone and to know if he is still alive.

The distraught wife with a young son has requested the GNLA through the media to allow her to communicate with her husband as she does not know in what condition he is in and if he is still alive. Ms Aparajita Mushahary says she does not even know why the GNLA has abducted her husband who is a conscientious government official.

Meanwhile, the Meghalaya State Committee of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha has appealed to the kidnappers to immediately release the BDO unconditionally.

The Bodo Sahita Sabha leaders in their appeal said, “We are deeply concerned with the abduction and fervently appeal to the abductors to release Prafulla Kr Boro immediately and unconditionally without any harm on humanitarian ground.”

The Sabha has also asked the Meghalaya government and the West Garo Hills district administration to take all necessary steps for the safe release of the abducted official.
