SHILLONG: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Thursday upgraded its internet services to the next level with the inauguration of the WIMAX service in a Phase Manner in the State.
The WIMAX service which is the delivery of broadband speed internet through wireless was inaugurated by Mawprem MLA Manas Chaudhuri at Laitkor here on Thursday.
This service was launched in the state to curb the problems in delivery of landline services and poor internet services which is common in the State with its hilly terrain, very narrow roads and general inability to protect the media cables against both natural and manmade activities like road widening and landslides.
