Three NSCN(K) militants arrested

IMPHAL: Imphal West district police on Thursday said its commandos have arrested three members of NSCN (K) from two different places in the district on Wednesday. Acting on an information received from 28 Assam Rifles on Wednesday, Imphal West District police commandos under the supervision of Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Commando) Imphal West apprehended two cadres of NSCN (K) at B.T. Road near Shamu Makhong here. The duo are identified as self-styled major Gaithourung alias Gaithoumei Rongmei (26), and Kabidung Rongmei (20). It is stated to have joined the organization in 2002 and got military training in 2006 at Agroman camp in Jiribam, Imphal East. They are working under the command of Neithenel. He also disclosed that one of their members namely, Kathudin Rongmei is operating at Thangmeiband area. (NNN)
