Cleaning drive

 SHILLONG: A cleaning drive was organized jointly by The Art of Living Foundation (Shillong Chapter) along with Rilbong Resident Welfare Association and Durbar Shnong on Saturday. The cleaning drive covered the areas of Kench’s Trace, Rilbong, Dunon Compound and Burnside.

Representatives from every household took part in the cleaning drive in these localities which started at 8:30am and continued till 12 noon.

The cleaning drive was conducted by the members of the three organizations along with the resident of the locality in their own houses and area.

The cleaning drive was participated by housewives, elderly persons and small children, too in these areas.

The cleaning drive was followed by a cultural health and happiness programme at 5pm followed by a fun game by The Art of Living Foundation at Rilbong Community Hall. An all community Art of Living Satsang was also organized in the evening which presented devotional songs.

The function attracted a sizeable audience at the venue.

The function was attended by senior residents and leaders of the localities that were covered during the cleaning drive, including Bishnupur Headman, Shri P Syiem and Mawprem Legislator, Shri Manas Chaudhuri as everyone lauded the efforts of the organizations who were involved in the cleaning drive.
