NEHU identified as centre for INSPIRE

 SHILLONG:The North East Hill University (NEHU) has been identified as the Centre for implementing Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE), a programme initiated by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The programme will facilitate interaction of class X top performers of various Boards with Scientists of National and International repute to enthuse such students for taking up scientific studies as their career.

The programme will be organized from December 13 to 17, 2011 at NEHU. The inauguration programme will be held at 9 AM on December 13.

The education minister RC Laloo will inaugurate the camp and Vice Chancellor, NEHU will preside over the function.

This will be followed by interaction of selected students with mentors drawn from various parts of the country.

There will be group activity sessions in the afternoons where interns will make motor boats, and gliders and learn about detecting adulterations in food items, management of disasters, biotechnology, genetics, maths and quiz.
