SHILLONG: In a bid to reduce traffic congestion in the city, the State police have decided to tow away vehicles parked in ‘no parking zones.’

Informing this here on Tuesday, Additional Superintendent of Police (traffic) Herbert Lyngdoh said, “Police will strictly enforce the law and action will be taken against all the vehicles parked in ‘no parking zones’ particularly in Khyndailad.

“We are even thinking of publishing the violators’ name and their vehicle numbers in the newspapers,” Lyngdoh said.

Of late Shillong has been witnessing regular traffic jams.
