KOHIMA: The common working group review meeting for the conduct of Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 in the state of Nagaland has been held in Kohima.

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of V Sakhrie, Commissioner and Secretary of Rural Development (RD) and State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) on Saturday. Official sources here on Sunday said all related departments like Commissioner’s office, Urban Development, RD Department, Directorate of Census Operation, SIRD and SECC Cell and Senior officials from BSNL and Electronic Cooperation of India Ltd (ECIL) attended the meeting.

In order to be prepared for any eventualities, the working group identified problematic areas and discussed at length as to how best the same could be addressed to when it was launched. All necessary trainings will be completed by January 13 before launching the programme. Even during Christmas holidays, officers and staff will continue to function in the SECC Cell on rotation basis, he added. (UNI)
