SHILLONG: Star Cement, the leading manufacturer of cement in the NE, inaugurated a public toilet under it’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, in Smit.
Provision of this public toilet has come as a great relief to the residents. President (Sales and Marketing), Jyoti Agarwal, Star Cement said, “Star Cement takes it’s Corporate Social Responsibilities very seriously. This is the 3rd toilet that we have donated to the people of Meghalaya – the other 2 being in Mawngap and Sohyong.The provision of a public toilet is a very practical way to improve the standards of living of the residents of Smit and I hope that it will further help in promoting the health and hygiene of the residents.”
