SHILLONG: The State Planning Board Co-Chairman John F Kharshiing has lodge a complaint with the State Police against overloading by commercial trucks by blatantly violating motor vehicles rules.

In a letter to Director General of Police (DGP) N Ramachandran on Friday, Kharshiing said, “Only partial checking of overloaded trucks plying between Jowai to Guwahati takes place”.

A number of trucks plying between Guwahati to Shillong are carrying goods beyond the permissible limit, he said.

The SPB Co-Chairman also complained against the long-distance buses.
