ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Everester Anshu Jamsenpa was felicitated by the Union Ministry of Tourism during the function ‘Clean India Campaign’ at Delhi recently.
She was presented with a bouquet, a hand-crafted gift and was also given a cheque of Rs five lakh by the Prime Minister’s Office.
The ‘Clean India Campaign’ was inaugurated by former President of India Dr Abdul Kalam.
The key note address was delivered by Union Minister for Tourism Subodh Kant Sahai, delayed official report said here on Monday.
Tourism Secretary R H Khwaja confirmed the name of Anshu Jamsenpa as one of the Brand Ambassadors of ”Clean India Campaign” 2012-2013.
The Ministry also nominated the everester as Co-Chairperson of Travel Trade Group of ”Clean India Campaign” which was chaired by Hon’ble Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi.
G N Sinha, Principal Secretary Tourism, A K Singh Director Tourism, Tsering Wange, president AMASA and others represented the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Tawang, a popular destination, which is free from plastics, tobacco & litters, was set as one of the shining example of clean destination in India. (UNI)
