SHILLONG: The All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organisation of Jaintia Hills District has expressed disappointment over the problem of traffic jam in the district citing that the people are suffering a lot due to the horrifying traffic jam caused by the imposition of “No Entry for Trucks” by the State Police.

In a statement issued by the AJYWO here on Thursday, AJYWO president MH Dkhar said the people of the district are left stranded on the road as all the vehicles come to a stand still due to jams caused by the “No Entry” order.

Dkhar said the Government should come up with a proper traffic management else the people will be affected to a large extent.

The organisation has also given some suggestions to solve this problem saying the Government should find out ways and means to solve the problem by providing places for “No Entry for the trucks or follow the one way system for the trucks by allowing alternative days for plying of trucks from Badarpur to Guwahati and from Guwahati to Badarpur, while the State Government is widening the bye-pass road.

Dkhar also informed that since the imposition of the No Entry timing by the State Government, the traffic jam has became a horrifying experience for the people of Jaintia Hills.
