TURA: The president of Baghmara Block Congress Committee, Parkin Arengh, has given a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of Baghmara Municipal Board asking him to remove the chairman, B D Sangma, citing reason of losing all faith and confidence in his present chairmanship.
“It has come to the notice of the Congress party at Baghmara block level that nine out of 12 municipal ward commissioners have tendered resignation letters and under the circumstances it is mandatory as per the municipal act to either remove the present chairman by impeacement or dissolve the board at the earliest,” said the Block Congress president.The nine ward commissioners who resigned are Sukhina R Marak (Wagesik ward), Tharson R Marak (Dabram ward), Tuntun R Marak (Upper Jongkol ward), Seema N Sangma (Malikona ward), Diana Sore N Marak (RC Mission Compound ward), Roinilla R Sangma (Dopagrang ward), Rokkime M Sangma (Rangdokram ward), Dippinsono M Sangma (Dabitbibra ward), Premothy G Momin (Bolsalgre ward).
