Tripura Left mulls launching dedicated media

Agartala: Communist Party of India (Marxist) Tripura state committee has considered to have separate news channel and news paper besides, it’s existing mouthpiece for tackling opposition’s campaign against the ruling Left Front government, especially Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.

Addressing media here on Sunday, CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said the opposition parties and a section of media had launched motivated campaign against Lleftists, suppressing the development activities of the government and were trying to establish the failure of the ruling party.

“The volume of such activities and anti-government campaign have demanded launching of separate newspaper and channel to counter it because our existing mouthpiece is not enough to manage the situation,” Dhar said, apprehending that the anti-Left campaign would be much bigger on the eve of elections slated for early next year.(UNI)
