Workshop on e-services held

JOWAI: A workshop on online services (E-services) was held in Jowai on Saturday. The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jaintia Hills district, graced the inaugural function as the chief guest.

The workshop tried to enlighten tax payers about various online services and ways to avail such services through internet.

The workshop was organised by the Taxation department in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre.

According to Deputy Commissioner (Taxation Department) B Khongsit, the government has introduced services such as e-waybill, e-Payment, e-returns and e-registration. All these services will be launched tentatively on January 21.

“Software for all five services has been developed and it can be accessed in the website, ‘https://meghalayaonline.gov.in’.

The ADC, Jaintia Hills, B. Mawlong speaking as the chief guest, lauded the Department for taking such initiatives to bring all services to tax payers and citizens at their door steps.
