Poll rolls

The Election Registration Officer, Khliehriat, has informed that the list of amendments to draft electoral rolls for 5- Sutnga Saipung (ST) and 6- Khliehriat (ST) Assembly constituency has been prepared with reference to January1, 2012 as qualifying date and in accordance with Registration of Electors Rules 1960. The same is available for inspection at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer, Khliehriat Sub-Division, during office hours.

Wanted

One Balarisa Nengnong (50) of Nongpyngrope Malki and Sohiong Village is wanted in connection with Laban PS Case No. 28(05)2011 U/S 7 Essential Commodities Act. The woman has a swarthy complexion, 4ft 6in height with long black hair and a round face.

Body found

An unidentified body was found lying at Punjabi Lane, Bara Bazar, Shillong on January 9 at 6:30pm. The body was removed later to Civil Hospital, Shillong. Inquest and other legal formalities have been observed and the body is kept at the Civil Hospital Morgue Room for identification. The age of deceased is between 35-40 years with a fair complexion and medium built. He is 5ft 5in in height and was wearing blue coat with blue jeans trousers, pink T-shirt and blue gamcha.

Complaint

One Mendu Momin has lodged a complaint with Rongjeng PS stating that on January 12 one unidentified person forcibly took away his son Lucas Sangma (28) from his house at Mangsang Bamil, East Garo Hills. However, local people chased away the abductor and rescued the victim at Rengseng, West Khasi Hills. In another case, one Dawa Sherpa lodged a complaint at Rongjeng PS stating that on January 14 at around 8pm, unidentified armed miscreants looted Rs 17,000 from a coal-laden truck (AS-25B-3281) at Darugre, East Garo Hills. They fired at the truck causing bullet injuries to the driver and also assaulted the complainant. The driver was shifted to CH, Goalpara, Assam.
