New Delhi: The Indian government on Wednesday extended by another six months separate ceasefire agreements with two rebel groups in Assam that would facilitate the ongoing peace process in the northeast.

The separate truce agreements between the government and National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Progressive (NDFB-P) and the Dilip Nunisa-led Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) would be on till June end.

The government and the DHD, which demands a separate state to be carved out from parts of Assam and Nagaland, entered into the truce Jan 1, 2003. The agreement with the NDFB, which demands a separate Bodoland, has been in operation since June 2005. (IANS)
