3 MCS officers nominated for IAS

SHILLONG: Three senior MCS officers have been nominated to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Official sources on Tuesday that the three MCS officers who are nominated to IAS are Higher and Technical Education director W Khyllep, Health and Family Welfare Officer on Special Duty (OSD) PS Dkhar and State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Director Aldous Mawlong. Official sources said that all three officers belong to the 1987 batch.

NCP MDC quits

TURA: The NCP MDC from Rongrikimgre constituency of South Garo Hills, Willy D Shira, has resigned from the party and submitted his resignation to the president of the district NCP in Baghmara on personal grounds. His resignation pushes the NCP down to eleven in the 30-member (29 directly elected+ 1 nominated) House. The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) does not have the anti-defection law in place to prevent MDCs from changing sides regularly.
