General Council
The general council meeting of NCP’s Nongkrem Block will be held on January 28 at Durbar Hall Kynton U Mon, Lad Nongkrem at 10am. The meeting will elect the new office bearers of the NCP unit.
Dry Day
The district administration of Eash Khasi Hills district has declared January 26 as “Dry Day” throughout the district on account of Republic Day.
Illicit liquor
The Excise Department staff of Shillong has seized 100.250 litres of i/d liquor and 11.280 IMFL during several raids in the district in the month of December, 2011.
Assault case
Unidentified miscreants assaulted two labourers at Tyrke, Jaintia Hills on January 23. According to a complaint lodged by one Raplang Dkhar, unidentified miscreants assaulted two labourers in his coal camp.
