Assam youth to attempt world record

GUWAHATI: An Assam youth will attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by running the longest distance barefoot in 24 hours.

Abhijit Barua of Jorhat will take the shot at setting the new world record on January 30 next and all preparations by organizers had already been completed.

Barua will run barefoot total of 190 km in 24 hours to beat the existing record of 186 km, held by an USA athlete. GPS survey of the route had been carried out, while special traffic arrangements will be made in Jorhat on January 30 when Barua set about to make a new record. (UNI)
