Ampareen’s name recommended as Cong candidate

SHILLONG: The 16-Shillong East Block Congress Committee on Sunday unanimously recommended the name of lone woman legislator of the State and Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh as the Congress candidate for the 2013 elections from 16-East Shillong constituency.

Ampareen is likely to be pitted against her Cabinet colleague and Deputy Chief Minister Bindo M Lanong of the UDP.
