JOWAI: A 100 year-old-woman, Silda Dkhar of Wapungshnong was allegedly assualted by one Vijay Siangshai of Pamra-kmai who is the husband of her grand daughter.
Sources informed that Siangshai was released from Ladrymbai PS recently for threatening his wife even after being separated.Few days after he was released on Monday night, he came to Dkhar’s residence and tried to assualt his wife identified as B Dkhar. Her grandmother came in between to stop him from beating up her grand-daughter but he assualted her with a Khasi dao.“The old woman suffered grievous cut in one of her hands”, said a source. Sources also informed that a complaint was lodged with Ladrymbai police in this connection against the culprit.It may be mentioned here, Dkhar was recently felicitated by the FKJFP-Khliehriat Circle for her 100th birthday.
