Cairo: As many as 25 Chinese nationals working for a cement factory in Egypt have been taken captive by some local people in Egypt’s Sinai town of Arish, said the Chinese embassy officials in Cairo.

The Chinese nationals — 24 workers and a translator — were riding a bus to their plant, when they were stopped at around 11.40 a.m.

Tuesday by some locals on a road and taken to a makeshift tent nearby, Xinhua quoted commercial affairs counsellor of the embassy Ma Jianchun as saying. (IANS)
