79.35 pc polling recorded in Manipur Assembly election

Imphal: The final polling percentage for the tenth Manipur Assembly election stood at 79.35 compared to 86.37 in the 2007 Assembly polls. Election was held on January 28 last.

Officials from farflung areas finally reached their respective district headquarters on Tuesday.

State Election authority, which issued the final poll percentage, said the highest turnout was at Hiyanglam, which recorded 92.95 per cent.

Other constituencies, which recorded high turnout, were Keirao for 90.17 per cent, Lamsang for 90.61 per cent, Wangoi for 91.24 per cent, Mayang Imphal for 90.95 per cent, Oinam for 90.05 per cent, Wangjing Tentha for 91.57 per cent, Wabagai for 91.37 per cent, Lamlai for 92.25 per cent. (UNI)
